Dr. Jatinder Lamba, Ph.D., M.Sc.
Dr. Jatinder Lamba is currently Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research. Dr. Lamba’s research is focused on identification, characterization and clinical validation of genomic/epigenomic markers predictive of therapeutic outcome in cancer patients.
Current lab members’ research interests
Vivek M. Shastri, Ph.D.
2019, PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL
Research Interests: Biological characterization of CD33 isoforms; DNA damage response (DDR) pathway-based score to predict response to GO; development and cellular evaluation of anti-CD33 based bispecific T cell engagers (BiTEs) and multi-target adaptable cell engagers (MACEs) for potential use in AML immunotherapy.
Phani Krishna Parcha, Ph.D.
2019, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Pondicherry Central University, India
Research Interests: Cancer signaling, Drug screening, Patient derived in vitro cancer models (tumorspheres & Organoids) for drug discovery.
2017, Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with minor in Biochemical Engineering, University of Delaware
Research Interests: Research aims to understand how interpatient variation influences response to immunotherapy in the context of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and to leverage this information to improve immunotherapeutic treatment strategies. Mohammed conducts analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data and explores the functional relevance of his findings using AML cell line models.
Richard “RJ” Marrero, Pharm.D.
2019, Pharm.D., Palm Beach Atlantic University
Research Interests: Genome-wide association analysis, identification and validation of genomic markers predictive of clinical outcomes in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia, and preemptive pharmacogenomic multi-gene panel-based testing.
Nam K. Nguyen, Pharm.D./M.S.
2019, PharmD/MS, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy
Research Interests: Genome-Scale CRISPR-Cas9 synthetic lethal screening in AML cell lines and primary leukemic cells to identify drug resistance genes and to uncover druggable genome.
2020, Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, University of Florida
Research Interests: Multi-omics integration, deep learning, liquid biopsies
Jennifer Ahmed, PharmD Intern
2021, Pharm.D, University of South Florida
Research Interests: Pharmacogenomics of cytarabine in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), identifying genomic biomarkers to predict chemotherapy-related toxicity, and investigating cytarabine-induced changes with respect to global untargeted metabolomes.
Research Interests: Pharmacogenomic impacts on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of chemotherapeutic agents, identification of genomic biomarkers to predict clinical outcomes in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia and adult acute myeloid leukemia
Angelica K. de Jesus Sosa
2018, MS, University of Puerto Rico – Medical Sciences Campus
Research Interests: Identification of novel therapeutic drug targets via CRISPR-Cas9 system, identification of therapeutic agents that can be useful at overcoming resistance in AML, and identification of mechanisms predictive of treatment-outcome and drug resistance in AML.
